The Government L.P.S. Anayidukku was established in 1930. From its inception to the present day, this school has been a refuge for the very poor children of this region. Of the two existing school buildings, one is the old structure built in 1930. This building does not provide a comfortable environment for children to sit and learn. The lack of proper lighting and adequate space has forced students to study in cramped conditions, causing equal distress to both children and teachers. The Anganwadi of this ward also functions in the same building.
This school, which once had a large number of students, witnessed a significant decline in enrolment over time, possibly due to its inadequate facilities and unattractive classrooms. With the aim of restoring the school’s former glory, several initiatives were undertaken. It was during this time, when we held on to the hope that even in the darkest moments a ray of light awaits us, that we came to know about the commendable interventions of the Zoya Charitable Trust in the field of education.
We approached the Trust’s Chairperson, Dr. Shama Mohammed, and made her aware of the condition of this school. Fortunately, she realized that the school was in urgent need of assistance at this crucial stage. As a result, the Zoya Charitable Trust has now made it possible to construct a beautiful new building at a cost of one crore rupees, comprising four classrooms, an office, and sanitary facilities.
We can confidently hope that this venerable institution will continue to stand with dignity and brilliance for many years to come, spreading the light of knowledge to countless children.
The activity was funded with the CSR funds received from Panchshil Foundation.
